I think the critical lens "winning is not the most important thing, it's everything" by VinceLonbard
means successful is not the most sighificant thing, but it is everything. I feel it is not always true. I
disagree with this statement. In the short story "The Admiral" by Coreen Glynn the theme used to critize
the life of the character Jimmy.
The first thing in the story is about Jimmy's appearance and his behavior. He was about fuve feet tall
and smelled of cigar smoke mixed with coffee and other things. He looks poor. He was alawys sitting
by himself in McDonald's, starting out the window. However, he is a happy person. He lived oneday at
a time and seemed to enjoy every minute of it. When he died , so many of his friends came to here to
see him.
I disagree with this statement "Winning is not the most important thing, it's everything" in this story
Jimmy is not a successful man, he is poor. However, he is a happy person, and he had a lot of friends. In
addition, he is very enjoy his life.
